Over 50 UPS franchises hit by data breach

UPS-LogoUPS, the US parcel delivery company, has been affected by a data breach affecting 51 franchises across 24 states, exposing clients’ names, postal addresses, email addresses, and payment card information.  It is not yet known how many customers may have been affected.

The breach was discovered only when the US government notified the parcel company of a “broad-based malware intrusion”. It is believed the malware attacks happened between January and August this year.

Each franchise of the brand is responsible for installing its own network. UPS has confirmed that it is taking immediate action to review its internal processes.
